Welcome to The Nexus Foundation

The Nexus Foundation is a non-profit belief body based on inclusion, connection, community, ceremony and compassionate public engagement.

We provide a welcoming space for people whose beliefs may not fit neatly into one fixed religious or secular path. Our approach recognises faith, spirituality, personal belief, family tradition, philosophy, nature, human connection and non-religious reflection.

Our Beliefs

We believe that people can find meaning, connection and spiritual value through many different paths.

The Nexus Foundation recognises that belief can be shaped by faith, spirituality, personal values, family traditions, culture, nature, reflection, community and lived experience.

The Foundation is inclusive of LGBTQ+ people, people of all genders, sexual orientations, gender identities, family structures, faith backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, non-religious perspectives, disabilities and life experiences.

Our purpose is to bring people together in a respectful and inclusive way, creating space for reflection, support, shared values and meaningful life events.

Community and Meetings

The Nexus Foundation is not established only for ceremonies. Its wider purpose is to create connection, belonging and shared support through reflection, discussion and community.

The Foundation meets regularly, in person or online where appropriate, to uphold and promote its beliefs of inclusion, connection, compassion, personal meaning and respect for different belief paths.

Meetings and discussions may include reflection, planning, community support, ceremony development, community and voluntary activity, training, guidance and the ongoing development of the Foundation’s belief system.

At present, awareness of meetings and community activity is shared through those connected with the Foundation, with public information continuing to develop through this website and wider public engagement.

Ceremonies and Inclusive Celebrants

Ceremonies are one way The Nexus Foundation shares its beliefs publicly at important moments in people’s lives.

Our ceremonies may include weddings, vow renewals, funerals, memorials, New Life Ceremonies, naming ceremonies, family ceremonies and other meaningful life events.

Celebrants connected with The Nexus Foundation are known as Inclusive Celebrants. An Inclusive Celebrant supports the Foundation’s belief that ceremonies can honour different faiths, spiritual views, philosophical beliefs, identities, relationships, family traditions, personal values and non-religious perspectives.

Each ceremony is created in a way that reflects the people involved, while remaining consistent with the beliefs and values of The Nexus Foundation.

Compassion and Community

Compassion, kindness and service to others are important parts of The Nexus Foundation’s belief system.

The Foundation believes that personal belief should be reflected not only through words or ceremonies, but also through practical care, community support and positive action.

As part of upholding and promoting its beliefs, The Nexus Foundation aims to encourage community and voluntary activity through awareness, volunteering, public engagement and support for causes that reflect its values.

This commitment forms part of the Foundation’s wider purpose of connection, compassion, inclusion and service within the community.
